wordle inspired set design

wordle inspired set design

a few weeks ago i blogged about wordle.net.  i was certain i could find some great way to put that little piece of fun to good use.  our next sermon series was perfect…more.  i couldn’t actually use wordle to set it up since it doesn’t work so well with just one word.  but it was really easy to execute.  we ordered 4 custum gobos.  i only got 2 of them installed for the first week.  i just installed the other 2.

just when i start to think that the time i spend reading blogs is a waste… my time is redeemed back to me on projects like this.  we were really down to the wire on artwork for this series.  i got it knocked out in record time.  what inspires you when you are under the gun?

love it! I am addicted to wordle (thanks to jim drake) and have been noodling how to work it into a worship element. I like your idea.
To answer your question, I saerch webites, youtube, videos, tv shows, listen to dc101 on the radio. I lurke, blurke, link and surf. I input as much information as possible. I call it searching for snippets. I simply look around until God expoldes in my brain. Then I do a happy dance…

Awesome idea. I just used my first wordle in worship on Wednesday. Sometimes being under the gun makes it work. Especially if you don’t have a team of people taking on the ideation that your service may need.

I do alot of what Dorothy does…look for great ideas to shape for our context. I’m in a more traditional church, so the creative ideas are perhaps smaller scale than changing set and stage.

That is really awesome! Why I didn’t connect the “more” graphic with Wordle I don’t know. Somehow I missed it. And you’re right, it does fit very well. More mores. You and your gifts constantly amaze me!…seriously.

See ya Sunday!:)

Cool–I love wordle.

We’re taking the pastor’s sermons and doing a wordle each week on his teaching series in Proverbs. We’re printing them to 23.5×42 inch paper on our large scale printer and adhering them to thin insulation board–we’ll put them all up here a few weeks as we end the series and let people walk through a gallery of the words.
