The mountains are as beautiful as ever. As we rounded the bend to come up the mountain on hwy 181 we saw table rock clear as day. Cam had a big time as we rounded the curvy mountain - “wheee,” he would say everytime we rounded a hairpin. “Woo-hoo” was reserved for the multi-curved embankments accompanied by a sharp drop in altitude that would leave his stomach on the roof of our manual tranmission, air conditioned dynamo (with cup holder). Nothing pulls you up a mountain like good old fashioned manual transmission. You just aren’t driving right if you have to use your breaks in the mountains with a manual transmission.Â
Round the last curve to grandma’s house. The sweet peas are in full bloom and growing wildly everywhere as are the brand new rose gardens mom has planted around her house. Man - these gardens could give Builtmore a run for his money. Mom’s un-airconditioned house is comfortable. Cam now has a fresh haircut and shower - so, now we head up to the rental house to see everyone else on thier return from Asheville. No cell phone service I would guess and I’m certain no internet…. so I’ll post again when I get a chance.Â
I’m just realizing that I forgot a card reader - so unless I find a very specific cable around here I won’t be able to post pictures until I get back. Maybe, we’ll see - seems like I remember mom having one. Hope so - it’s going to be a great picture week. Planning some early morning sunrises and evening mountain sunsets. Can’t wait.
Love ya’ll! Don’t work too hard. :-D
