check this little guy out!
i drove up under the portico at church to be greeted by this little fella. he was right out in the street and didn’t even budge at the sight of my chevy blazer barreling through. so, i got out to take a look.
he let me get closer, and closer and closer…. i took this pic with my iphone from about 2 feet away! he’s got a tag on his foot. i wonder what he is. i tried to find one like him online but didn’t see anything even close.
mom! help… what is he?
i think he was trying to volunteer to be a greeter.

That is a “morning dove”. I am pretty sure. I’ll check it out and let you know absolutely.

ok, i have mourning dove and pb says carrier pigeon.
it’s looking like carrier pigeon is a little closer. mom will settle this for sure…

ha, how cute is he? So funny that he has a tag on his foot. I don’t think the peope would mind being greeting by a bird with a green tag on his foot. at least i wouldn’t. i’m surprised he let you get close enough to get a shot.

Not positive but probably a homing pigeon. Not sure why he isn’t going home though. Could be a young dove that someone tagged.

Could be a Scaled Pigeon – if it is someone would probably really like him back – can you catch him?
